So grateful summer's finally here!

'Summer's Here!' by Neil Burley
As I write this, the sun is shining, the heat is getting to me, and the weatherman isn't saying it'll be raining any time soon! That must mean this is summer? Last year there was no blossom on the cherry tree at my allotment, this year there was plenty, though I now only have one cherry ripening.

The fabulous 'Blossom' digistamp from LEJ Designs (our sponsor this month) was perfect for making a summer-themed thank you card. I printed the digistamp onto my favourite coated card and coloured with Pale Pink/Burgundy/Cardinal Red and Gold ProMarkers. I used an embossing tool from the reverse to emboss the branches, some of the flowers and the flower stems, before colouring a second copy and cutting out some of the open flowers and shaping them with the embossing tool before decoupaging them onto the image. The stamens are cotton thread tied in a bundle, trimmed, coloured with the Gold ProMarker at the tips and then stuck down with matt multi-medium. I used the thank you stamp from the Gratitude clear stamp set from WOW! Embossing Powders with Burgundy Versasmall ink pad, and then printed out the quote on a colour printer to match. Everything is mounted on Bazzil Brocade cardstock onto an ivory hammered effect card.

I hope the 3D elements come across in the photo, but if not, here's a close-up to try and show it better!

Hello Summer

Happy Friday everyone!

It's Ria here today :) I'm sharing my take in this month's ''Summer's Here'' challenge.

I used the Blossom digi image from LEJ Designs. I colored them with Promarkers and added a crochet ribbon strip that I already have in my stash to complement the flower colors. Summer has a bright fun colors so I used lively colors of the pallet.

There's still time to play along the challenge so go and have fun creating a card for summer.

Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Summer 's Here - July challenge by Amanda

Summer is definitely here in Bedfordshire - it's roasting!  Not a great time to be carrying boxes of heavy crafting supplies around the house and building shelves then!  I'm moving my crafty stash into another room at the moment, so my inspiration project this month is a little bit work in progress.

This month's sponsor  is LEJ Designs and I chose Lindsay's pretty floral digi Blossom.  I've used it to make a decoration for my new room and I'm hoping it will inspire me for a long time to come. For more about the project, please take a look at my blog post here.

Here Comes Summer!

Hi Everyone, today it's my turn (Claire S) to share my card this month!

So the theme for July is "Summer's Here" and we are sponsored this month by LEJ Designs

Here is my card using our sponsor image:

I coloured the digi image with promarkers and fussy cut her.  All the backgrounds are from a set of free papers that came with a magazine recently.  The sentiment is a stamp from Acid Drops and Whatnot which was stamped into a frame and cut out.  I mounted the sentiment and the digi onto the card with foam pads for a bit of extra dimension.

There is still plenty of time to join in the challenge this month - click HERE to find the post to link up your project, remember there is a chance to win four digi images from our sponsor!

Thanks for looking!

Claire x

Day 9 - Summer's Here!

Welcome to Day 9 of our "Summer's Here" Challenge!  Don't know about you but from where I'm from, summer is definitely welcome with open arms!

This digi is Summer Sun Ellen by our sponsor LEJ Designs.  I colored her with my copic markers and decided since she had such a nice tan that a red suit would look quite nice against this paper!  I  added some craft canvas from and found some chipboard cutouts in my stash. The paper is Beach House from the Summer Soiree Collection by Fancy Pants Designs.

Marleen DT

Hi Guys..

It is my turn to show a bit of inspiration for this months challenge..

Sadly it is also my last post for this amazing Challenge DT.
Due to way to few hours in the day, Ive had to cut down my DT's.

But I still have this last card to show you.

The image for this card is from our sponcer, LEJ Design.

This is a really pretty image, and I really wanted it to be center of attention on my card. So I kept the rest of the card really simple. I embossed the background card stock and just added a die cut corners. Really simple ans a greeting can always be added..

Hope you like and good luck in the challenge.

Dragonfly canvas - Summer's here

Hi all

For this months's post Iv'e used the lovely Dragonfly and included it in a canvas.  The Dragonfly was coloured in and glitter glues added to the wings to make them stand out.

The canvas itself was painted and crackled then I added some inks to make a tree and branches background. It's a little abstract but I kind of like it that way.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with for this month's theme.
Happy crafting everyone.
